History
The band's name is quite interesting: The simple translation means "206 and Thinkers", but the meaning behind the name is much deeper. The human skeleton consists of 206 bones, so the first part of the name describes the human body, whereas the 'thinkers' part includes the message of human thoughts and human consciousness appearance. 206 and Thinkers stands for the exchange of body language and thought consciousness, and is the combination of the soul and body.
In Winter 1999, 206 and Thinkers started as an old school Death Metal band being a trio: drummer, guitar player and vocalist. They spend more than half a year to finish their manuscript of "The Azrael and Destiny", their first concept demo, which also includes a female vocalist. Defining their music style, 206 and Thinkers noted that it's not important whether they are Doom, Black or Death Metal. The general idea of Extreme Metal as the medium of choice is what they are using to transform the story of Azrael and Destiny in a musical Metal Opera.
Their first concert was on May 18th 2000 during "the night in rock" at one of Xi'an's universities. Later on, 206 and Thinkers played at various concerts in Xi'an in locations such as 8 1/2 Bar, the bunker, Bella Bar and many others. But 206 and Thinkers decided to decrease the amount of concerts to improve their quality during 2004.
After introducing a new keyboardist in March 2004, the band played live at the Mort Productions party to celebrate the release of a compilation album. The band themselves released the album "Lost Eternal" in November of 2005. The band has split up since, making this their first and only release.
