History

The calling of the wildness will never change in their blood, they all come from Inner Mongolia. Like the faithful cavalry sweep down from grassland, their music can bring you to the vast plain under the unlimited sky of their hometown.

It's really hard to spread some Chinese traditional folk culture to the youth nowadays, the impact from the west limited their creativity. The Ego-Fall is quite a good example of how to balance the west and the east, the modern times and the tradition. You cannot judge their music only from the way of playing, everything are melted in one. Their unique performing integrate the horse head string, hoomi (a kind of Mongolia throat singing, different from tibetan tantra's), and electrosonic instrument.

The Ego-Fall, lead their music with the spirit of the wolf, overturn the boundary between the west and the east.

The beginnings

The foundational line up of China's first Metal Core Band EGO FALL (other name: AGAINST ME) came from the former inner Mongolian grunge band called SUBCONSCIOUS (潜意识 QianYiShi) which was found back in 2000 with Su BoRi also on the vocals. After a temporary departure of Guitarist Wang Yang on year later, a new vocalist Wang Bin came into the band along with Guitarist Mao ChenWei and led the music changed more towards metal style. Like many underground musicians in China band members came to Beijing searching for a better destiny in Autumn of the same year but it didn't work out as expected so they returned home soon after while Wang Bin and Chen Wei left the band because of musical differences and found another melodic death metal band called FUNERAL POETRY (殉葬诗 XunZangShi)back in Inner Mongolia. Wang Bin's replacement was found in Bo Yin (now vocalist at 杭盖 HangGai). In the beginning of 2002 Yu Chao joint in as Keyboard player.

The bands music of that time was focused on a combination between Chinese folk melodies in NuMetal manner. Spring 2003 the band came back to Beijing once again to produce their Demo. But unfortunately Bo Yin had to quit because of his studies, thus Keyboarder Yu Chao was switched onto the vocals in May.

In the beginning of 2004 the band name was officially changed to AGAINST ME, and the music style tend more into power metal a this time. On their 3rd travel to Beijing they found a new man on bass in Chao LuoMeng, who came into the band on sujection of VOODOO KUNGFU's (or: ZERONE) Drummer. With this line up AGAINST ME start to do club gigs in Beijing's underground. Until the fall to 2005 former Vocalist Wang Bin and Guitarist Wang Yan came back and brought their melodic death influences into band. Now with two shouters on stage they also let different elements like industrial, NuMetal etc. flow into their music and mix it all up into nowadays Metal Core Style. Both Vocalists are screaming and growling like extreme metal as well as singing very emotional like emo core, the guitars are kicking with full load of bouncing rhythms.

Finally before the hot summer of 2005 came, AGAINST ME put out a 3piece demo incl. new songs in modern Metal Core style. Both Vocalists sound a little bit different on the record, the whole music is more emotional and less powerful as their live performances.

In October 2005, they performed during the Midi Music Festival 2005.

2007

January 28th, 2007, they performed in Tianjing during the Banghai Songwriter Music Festival 浜海原創音楽節 event. March 3rd, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. March 9th, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. April 6th, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. May 3rd, they rocked in the Get Lucky Bar. May 4th, they performed on the Gibson Guitar stage of the Midi Music Festival 2007 in the Haidian Park in Beijing. May 21st, they performed in the 13 Club, May 31st, they rocked the Starlive. June 9th, they performed in the Shandong Province in the 銹 bar. June 23rd, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. July 14th, they rock the Live Bar in Shanghai. July 15th, they performed in Nanjing's 神韵 bar. July 21st, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar. July 27th, they performed in the TRIBUTE TO TESTAMENT concert in the Starlive. August 12th, they performed at Changsha's 肆陸 bar. August 14th, they rocked Nanchang's 黒鉄 bar. August 18th, they performed in Lijiang's 37°2 bar. August 23rd they performed in 曲靖 in the 57号 bar. August 25th, they rocked Kunming's Shuo bar. September 8th, they performed at Guiyang's Nanfang GongYuan bar. September 15th, they performed in Chengdu's Little Bar. September 18th, they rocked Mianyang's Lowbar. September 22nd, the performed in Xi'an's 月亮鑰匙 bar. September 28th, they performed in Wuhan's VOX bar. September 30th, they performed in the MAO. October 4th, they performed in the Modern Sky Festival 2007 on the ROKR stage. October 5th, they performed in the MAO during the Cowboys from Hell/来自地獄的牛仔 event in memory of Pantera's guitarist Dimebag Abbott. October 12th, they performed in the Get Lucky Bar

2008

On March 22nd 2008, they joined the celebration party for the Resurrection of the Gods 5 compilation record at the 13 Club. In June, Aheizha 阿黒査 joined doing samplers. Later in June they signed with the record label 華人揺滾音楽文化伝播 (Mort Productions). August 24th, they performed in the Mao Live Club. September 28th, they performed in the 13 Club during the 3rd Metal Festival of the 13 Club. October 11th, they performed in Shengyang. Further in October, one of their songs was included in issue no. 80 of the So Rock! magazine. November 7th, they performed in Tianjian's 紅橋意庫創意園区A庫 during the 3rd Tianjing Songwriter Music Festival 天津第三届原創音楽季群英会 event. November 23rd, they hold a release party in the Mao for their first official record Spirit of Mongolia. December 13th, they performed in the 13 Club. December 21st, they rocked Xi'An's 月亮鑰匙 bar. December 27th, they performed in the Starlive.
