History
In 2000 he was named "rock guitarist for the new generation".
Xia Yan started out in the rock scene with his progressive metal outfit The Last Successor in 2002 and soon became one of the leading guitar player in the underground scene among the new generation of young musicians. Due to musical differences, he went parted ways with The Last Successor and spend some time as session and guest musician until rock star Zheng Jun hired him for his live band. Meanwhile he found his own SuperPanda Studio around 2004. Later he became a signed guitar player of the label Organge Factory 橘子工厂. In 2009 he helped out as live guitarist for the famous pop rock band The Flowers for their concert in Worker Stadion in Beijing. The same year he travelled to Taiwan to produce an album called "Yan Xia" for Meng Tingwei.
Beside music, multi-talent Xia Yan prooved himself well as actor (male lead!) on the film 'One Way Street' 《单行线》 in 2007 and as book author of his novel 'Simplicity Not Accomplished' 《简单未遂》 in 2008.
