Zhang Ling and the Fab Four Knights 张岭和神奇四侠, a Beijing based Jazz music group also known as Zhang Ling Jazz Group

张岭 (Zhang Ling), also known as “Big John”, is a musician from China. A bass player and a singer, 张岭 has been a notable figure in the Chinese rock scene. He has played for example in Cui Jian’s (崔健) band. His solo works combine elements of rock, pop, blues, soul and funk.

as a remarkable Jazz musician throughout China, Zhang Ling has carved out a place in the scene here as its strongest bassplayer. In addition to his bass playing, he is also a singer, with a earthy and bluesy feel.

With his band, they have so far released one CD entitled Big John Blues. BTW, Zhang Ling is also the manager of the oldest Jazz and Blues live venue in Beijing: CD Jazz Cafe
